About Us:
The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Creative Strategist / Creative Lead to oversee the execution of major creative projects and contribute to high-level strategic direction. This role requires a blend of creative leadership, content development expertise, and project execution to ensure all branding, storytelling, and campaign materials align with the organization's goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in content strategy, branding, and creative development, with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of major creative and branding initiatives, ensuring they align with organizational objectives and brand guidelines.
- Oversee and manage the creative development process across multiple mediums, including video, digital, print, and social media.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement a content and creative strategy that enhances engagement and brand awareness.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner, providing input on branding, messaging, and campaign direction.
- Manage and mentor mid-level creative staff, including the Assistant Creative Director, and Creative Coordinator.
- Ensure consistency in brand voice, design standards, and creative output across all platforms.
- Work closely with internal teams, external vendors, and freelancers to deliver high-quality creative assets.
- Stay current on creative and marketing trends to ensure innovative and impactful campaigns.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field or comparable experience.
- 5+ years of experience in creative strategy, branding, or content development.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, with experience managing a creative team.
- Expertise in storytelling, design principles, and visual communication.
- Ability to balance big-picture strategy with hands-on creative execution.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, content management systems, and project management tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present ideas effectively.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience.
