If you are passionate about the well-being of Chicagoland’s Jewish community, we have a great opportunity for you!  JCFS Chicago is seeking a Jewish Community Liaison & Clinician to serve Chicago’s Northwest suburban Jewish community.

  • Want to make a real difference in our community? The Jewish Community Liaison & Clinician will build and cultivate trusting relationships with synagogue leadership and serve as a resource to the synagogue community:

You will support synagogue professionals as they navigate challenges by increasing their capacity to address the social service and mental health needs of their congregants.

You will provide direct clinical services to children, families, and adults, across a broad range of presenting needs, including trauma, family systems, and behavioral issues.

You will partner with colleagues and synagogues on educational and support programs on topics such as abuse prevention, addiction, bereavement, parenting, and mental health.

  • Compensation: The minimum compensation for this position is $57,000 annually (final offer will be based on experience).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree and current Illinois clinical licensure in social work, counseling, psychology, or marriage & family therapy (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, LCP).
  • Excellent organizational skills to ensure competing priorities are completed in a strategic manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of, and experience working with, the Chicago-area Jewish community preferred.
  • As this position requires visits to locations which may or may not be accessible by public transportation, must be able to drive, have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable access to a vehicle to travel in the Chicago metropolitan area, particularly in the northwest suburbs,
  • Able to work evenings and occasional weekends to support client and/or program needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Liaison Services

  • Provide consultation to clergy, congregational staff and lay leadership on social service and mental health issues in the community.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement community education & support programs and professional training in collaboration with partner synagogues and other communal institutions.
  • Assess needs and connect congregants and community members to appropriate JCFS Chicago and community social service and mental health resources.

Client/Family Therapy

  • Provide direct clinical services (in-person and telehealth) with children, adolescents, and adults via individual, family, couple and/or group treatment modalities.  
  • Maintain 10 billable service hours per week.
  • Formulates understanding of clients’ situations, providing appropriate services with supervisory consultation.
  • Completes written treatment documentation that is complaint with program and regulatory requirements within the required time frames.

Program Support

  • Actively participate in weekly individual supervision, regular staff meetings and agency staff development programs.   
  • Collaborate with colleagues, supervisor, appropriate specialists or consultants as needed.
  • Perform record-keeping functions and other administrative duties, as required, including written documentation within the required time frames.
  • Represent JCFS and its programs in a positive manner to both internal and external contacts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all applicable agency policies and procedures.
