Job Summary

The Development Coordinator will play a pivotal role in advancing AJC’s mission by providing essential support for meetings and events, gift processing, database management, external communications, and other administrative needs.

The ideal candidate should be organized, flexible, and a team player. The candidate must have professional judgment and be able to reliably handle multiple assignments in a fast-moving dynamic environment. As the first point of contact for many AJC donors, the Development Coordinator should care deeply about disrupting antisemitism, supporting Israel and the future of the Jewish people; ready to infuse an atmosphere of platinum service for AJC stakeholders into every aspect of their work.

  • A bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of professional experience

Job Responsibilities

Fundraising/Database:

  • Provide administrative support for fundraising efforts, including timely processing of pledges and gifts, and tracking cultivation meetings; 
  • Handle transactions and communications related to pledges and gifts (with the utmost accuracy and discretion); 
  • Learn and become adept at extracting information and custom reports from Raisers Edge, AJC’s Development database.
  • Ensure contact information is kept up to date for both new and prospective donors. 
  • Distribute accurate lists to solicitors in both the Jewish and corporate communities.
  • Learn and strengthen use of information and custom reports from Raiser’s Edge.

Event Coordination:

  • Organize and manage project timelines for multiple events and initiatives.
  • Manage contracts for caterers, venues and other vendors.
  • Track registration and payments in coordination with other staff.

Office Administration:

  • Ensure accuracy of contact information of current and prospective donors.
  • Assist Regional Director and Development Director with meeting scheduling, agenda preparation and notetaking.
  • Submit expense reports on behalf of Regional director and Development Director.

Any other tasks as assigned by the Regional Director and Development Director.

What You’ll Do / A Day in the Life

  • Communicate with AJC Atlanta Board Members about upcoming meetings, programs and events.
  • Process pledges and gifts of donors.
  • Assist in facilitating follow-up from meetings.
  • Provide diverse administrative support, including managing calendars, and creating reports.

The salary range for this position is $40,000 to $50,000, depending on relevant experience.
