Description

Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy is a leading ECE-8th grade Zionist Orthodox Day School seeking a Mechanech and/or Mechanechet for the Elementary School. The school seeks candidates who understand and appreciate the value of positive Judaism, a student-centered learning environment, and a strong centrist orthodox religious zionist background with a desire to integrate into a young, dynamic community.

The role includes teaching a variety of Limmudei Kodesh subjects, including Tanach, Mishna, and Torah Sheb’eal Peh. Our mechanchim and mechanchot give their students strong positive experiences with Judaism and teach them the tools for independent learning. Hillel has grown to be a nationally recognized institution that owes much of its growth to our unique focus on developing the broader school community. Our staff plays an integral role in the presence that we have and the programs we can offer our community. We offer a unique blend that synergizes the comfort and support one can find in a large community while simultaneously providing vast and wide-ranging opportunities to educate and impact students, parents, and community members.  The school offers a warm and caring environment as it seeks to offer its students a program of academic excellence. The school is strongly committed to imbuing its students with a strong sense of ethics and teaching them to give back to their community. The school incorporates in its mission a desire to teach, empower, and inspire its students to become innovators and leaders in the Jewish and global community.

We are deeply invested in the teachers and couples we bring to our community.  If one spouse is interested in teaching and the other is engaged in a profession outside of education, we have a strong network within our school community to help network and assist them in a broad spectrum of professions.
