Position Title: Shabbat Youth Services Leader


Temple Israel Center in White Plains, NY seeks a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as our Shabbat Service Leader for grades K-2. The ideal candidate will be committed to cultivating a joyous and engaging prayer environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead K-2 youth services for 1 hour every Shabbat. Create a joyous Jewish prayer experience  enriched with multiple points of engagement, participation, skill building and learning.
  • Enable students to engage with the weekly Torah portion through dynamic story-telling and age appropriate activities
  • Build community among participants and their parents


  • Understanding of Jewish prayer traditions and liturgy.
  • Experience working with elementary students in an educational or religious setting. Camp experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create creative, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.
  • Musicality a plus, though no instruments can be used on Shabbat and holidays.

Compensation: $125/session. Vacation weeks to be determined.
