Executive Director Job Description

About Congregation Mickve Israel

Located in the Historic District of Savannah, Georgia on beautiful Monterey Square, Congregation Mickve Israel, founded in 1733, is the third oldest Jewish congregation in America. Our first synagogue, constructed in 1820, was the first synagogue built in Georgia. Our magnificent current sanctuary, completed in 1878, features unique gothic style architecture which  led Condé Nast Traveler to name Congregation Mickve Israel one of the 15 Most Beautiful Synagogues in the World.

Additionally, Congregation Mickve Israel (CMI) is a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive historic Reform Jewish congregation practicing both contemporary/mainstream and Classical Reform Judaism. We are a vibrant, growing synagogue of over 430 families that takes great pride in honoring our rich history and traditions while pursuing our vision for the future. We offer religious, social and educational programs that are stimulating and meaningful to our diverse membership and guests. Mickve Israel also welcomes people from all over the world and from every background who visit us to take a tour of our historic sanctuary and award-winning museum.
