Position Details

Title: Club Judea After School and Camp Director

Position Type: Regular Full Time

 

Position Overview

The Club Judea After School and Camp Director plays a pivotal role in the successful operation and development of our program, ensuring its alignment with our mission and values while fostering a nurturing and engaging environment for all participants. This multifaceted role encompasses program development, team management, family relationship management, operations management, enrollment growth, coordination of school's out camp days, and orchestration of special events. As a key leader within our organization, the Site Director will contribute significantly to the holistic growth and enrichment of the children under our care.

 

Responsibilities:

Program Development:

  • Design and implement engaging and enriching curriculum that reflects Jewish values, culture, and traditions.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff, educational experts and after school committee to ensure program content aligns with educational standards and best practices.
  • Continuously assess and improve program offerings based on feedback, trends, and emerging needs within the community.
  • Set up a new after school space, including classrooms, materials, supplies and securing transportation vehicles.
  • Set a transportation schedule based on schools and enrollment.

 

 

Team Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of educators, counselors, and administrative staff.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting professional growth and development opportunities for team members.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Plan and facilitate staff meetings for team.
  • Support teachers as needed with planning, discipline challenges and resources.
  • Recruit volunteers.

 

Family Relationship Management: 

  • Cultivate strong relationships with parents, guardians, and families, serving as a primary point of contact for communication and feedback.
  • Organize family engagement activities/experiences, such as parent workshops, family nights, and community events, to foster a sense of belonging and partnership.
  • Regular check in/positive emails or calls.

 

Operations Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, facilities management to ensure smooth program delivery.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, and compliance with relevant regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Manage program budget effectively, monitoring expenses and seeking cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

 

Enrollment:

  • Help develop and execute marketing and outreach strategies to attract new participants and retain existing families.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials, social media campaigns, and community partnerships to enhance program visibility and reach.
  • Lead tours for new families.
  • Reach out to new schools, introduce our program.

 

 

School's Out Camp Days:

  • Plan and coordinate engaging activities and excursions for school's out camp days, ensuring a balance of fun, learning, and enrichment.
  • Supervise staff and participants during camp days, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Keep communication with families and staff in regard to camp logistics.

 

Special Events:

  • Lead the planning and execution of special events, including holiday celebrations, and community service projects.
  • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to create memorable experiences that reinforce program values and build community connections.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in program management in an educational or youth development setting.
  • Extensive experience working with early childhood and elementary age children and educational professionals.
  • Experience teaching and leading in constructivist curriculum design and implementation; Reggio, Montessori, Waldorf, etc.
  • Strong understanding of Jewish culture, traditions, and values, with the ability to integrate them into program activities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams of educators and build team culture.
  • Proficiency in budget management, strategic planning, and input marketing strategies.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for children and families of all backgrounds.

 

The Club Judea After School and Camp Director will play a vital role in shaping the future of our program, fostering a sense of belonging, curiosity, and joy in every participant. Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of $64,000 to $70,000 based on experience and supplemental teaching opportunities (camp, extended day, religious school).
  • Healthcare Benefits: 
  • Medical insurance is provided to all full-time employees for the employee. Additional people may be added to this insurance at the employee’s expense. Plans are available for employees to purchase to cover dental and vision. 
  • Short term disability benefit
  • Percentage of salary contribution to the Reform Pension Board (RPB) after 5 years. 
  • Three weeks of Paid time off throughout the year as well as major federal and Jewish holidays.
