Director of Adult Enrichment & Engagement

A nonprofit, Jewish Community Center located in Middlesex County seeks a motivated, dynamic, experienced and creative Adult Enrichment & Engagement Director, for this growth position. The successful candidate will lead and develop programs of interest and benefit to a vibrant and growing adult and older adult community. Candidate will be someone with organizational skills, program development and delivery, and dedication to adult and older adult enrichment and engagement. A strong candidate will be able to interact easily with members, colleagues and the JCC community. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), liaisons with the JCC Board of Directors, as well as facilitates the activities of the lay-led JCC Adult Club. The Adult Enrichment & Engagement Director is an important part of the JCC professional leadership team, participating in the development and implementation of a range of existing and new program and service initiatives. Candidates should be proactive, self-motivated, technologically comfortable, creative, and caring professionals.


Principal Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Adult Enrichment & Engagement will:


* Serve as the point of contact for Adult and older Adult programs and services, including Learning Throughout Life, JCC Adult Club, Arts & Cultural program offerings, Live Well @ the JCC and various collaborative community events.
* Create, develop and implement programs for Adults age 60 and older, as well as introduce inter/multi-generational programs. This should include but is not limited to classes, lectures, holiday and cultural events, and social activities.
* Implement, oversee and evaluate existing programs and services, including bi-monthly Adult Club lunch program, Jewish and secular holiday and cultural celebrations and events, oversight of Bereavement group, and collaborate with other staff on production of quarterly Program book.
* Develop programs from beginning to completion, including details large and small that lead to success – research potential programs and appropriate
presenters/facilitators/entertainers, obtain references, agree on honorarium. Once offering is scheduled, coordinate all details and paperwork needed for program (for example, room usage and set-up, honorarium, supplies, etc.) work with JCC Technology Communication Manager to market programs to facilitate member participation, be present and welcoming at program, complete evaluation and budget form
* Engage in program participant recruitment and registration
* Coordinate in-person and hybrid programs as necessary, and/or in conjunction with onsite staff/volunteers
* Build and maintain relationships with members and program participants, and foster member engagement
* Identify metrics and implement their use as outcome measures to assess the effectiveness of adult and senior adult services and programs
* Collaborate with other JCC departments to assess, develop and implement appropriate programs to foster engagement in the arts & culture, health and
wellness and other program areas
* Assist and oversee Program Coordinator for Live Well @ the JCC 55+ Health and Wellness initiative
* Work with colleagues in a team approach
* Work collaboratively with Director of Special Projects & Initiatives to develop resource files for older adults, including, but not limited to, Home Care Agencies, Assisted Living options, Rehabilitation locations, Transportation options, therapeutic options, local, county, and other resources of potential assistance for older adults

Publicity & Communication

Collaborate with Technology Communication Manager to create, publish, post, and/or design and distribute Website content, quarterly Program Book, Email blasts, Brochures as needed, and Social media posts about program offerings

 Qualifications

* Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, cooperation and collaboration, and commitment to the mission of the organization.
* The ideal candidate is warm, approachable, detail-oriented, creative, passionate, and loves engaging with individuals of all ages, with a special affinity and respect for those 60 years of age and over. Candidate needs to be able to manage many details, focus on a variety of tasks at one time, and create a broad vision for programming and engagement.
* Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required, with concentration in Social Work, Psychology and/or Education preferable, but not required. Graduate with MSW, interest in focus on adults/seniors is a plus, but not required.
* Jewish communal engagement or other related experience is highly desirable.
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills, with strong ability to multi-task
* Ability to create and implement programs and services, and maintain organizational information and systems
* Ability to engage with and relate to adult children, parents, community leaders and stakeholders, as well as diverse groups of people from all social, economic, ethnic, cultural and faith communities
* Superior attention to detail, with excellent analytical skills
* Open to professional development in areas including staff and team leadership, and mentoring
* Experience working within in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
* Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Gmail/GSuite, Canva graphic design platform, electronic communication,
database systems (Daxko and Bloomerang CRM preferred), Zoom, and familiarity with Facebook and other social media.
