Congregation Kehillath Israel (“KI”), a Conservative synagogue in Brookline, MA, is seeking a 2nd-3rd Grade religious school teacher to teach Judaics and Hebrew language at the Kehillath Israel Religious School (KIRS). Generally, Judaics topics include weekly parsha, Jewish holidays, prayer, and Jewish values.

As we are a Conservative synagogue, teachers must be comfortable teaching traditional prayer liturgy. Class is in session from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Monday and Thursday afternoons throughout the school year. This will include snack time, tefillah as a kehillah (community), and Zman Kehillah, time as a community to participate in experiential education. If interested, teacher can work with the Director of Family Engagement to plan and implement some of these community time lessons for additional compensation. Teachers will be expected to plan their own lessons outside of school hours and participate in a monthly staff meeting.

Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience and education. All candidates will be required to undergo a background check. Please send a resume and a brief cover letter to Lisa Redisch, Director of Family Engagement, at [email protected] to apply.
