The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, ?, is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products. 
Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Integrated Fundraising and Direct Response will oversee strategic telemarketing, direct mail, and email campaigns to drive engagement, support fundraising efforts, and promote awareness of the OU's mission. This role includes serving as an internal agency lead, overseeing all aspects of campaign development and planning.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and execute direct response marketing strategies to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Telemarketing and Direct Mail Campaign Management: Oversee planning, execution, and optimization of telemarketing and direct mail campaigns.
  • Internal Agency Services: Collaborate with other departments to produce direct mail and telemarketing materials.
  • Performance Analysis and Optimization: Work with data teams to inform reporting and optimize campaign effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor junior team members.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal stakeholders to align marketing initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external vendors.
  • Talent Sourcing for Design and Copy: Source and manage talent for campaign production.

 Budgetary and Financial:

  • Produce campaign performance projections.
  • Review campaign performance reports.
  • Review monthly budget-to-actual reports.
  • Reconcile differences between database partners, performance reports, and general ledger.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly program reports.
  • Authorize program expenses within budgetary guidelines.
  • Support Senior Management in Budget and Planning: Help build and manage campaign budgets.

Creative and Production:

  • Support planning and creative strategy for campaigns.
  • Ensure design and copy resources are appropriate for campaign production.
  • Provide creative and strategic input for integrated programs.

Management and Administrative:

  • Supervise the Donor Communications Project Manager.
  • Manage senior staff and assist with organizational strategy.
  • Review and update contracts.

Perform other related duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of direct marketing experience, including 2+ years of management experience. Experience with online and fundraising systems is a plus.
  • Proven track record in multi-channel integrated marketing.
  • Solid understanding of fundraising mechanics, with demonstrated hands-on experience producing successful direct mail, telemarketing, and digital campaigns, including budgeting and report analysis.
  • Knowledge of industry KPIs, metrics, and trends.
  • Experience with digital project management systems.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Understanding of budget development, strategic planning, and program integration.
  • Organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Experience with P2P is a plus.
  • Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Proven success in developing direct response marketing campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience managing external vendors.
  • Ability to explain direct response concepts to non-fundraising stakeholders.
  • Up-to-date on industry trends and campaign channels.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of Jewish and Hebrew terminology. 
  • Previous experience working in a Nonprofit environment.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is between $80,00 and $95,000, commensurate with experience.
