Description

Pressman Academy is seeking our next Finance Manager.

The Finance Manager has the opportunity to play a central role in supporting the financial health and long-term sustainability of Pressman Academy. As a member of the school leadership team, and working in close collaboration with the Head of School and the Temple Beth Am finance team, the Finance Manager oversees the school’s financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, annual enrollment contracts, tuition assistance administration, and fiscal planning. This position not only ensures compliance and accuracy but also helps align financial strategy with the mission and values of our community. The Finance Manager reports directly to the Head of School and supervises the Human Resources Manager.

Who are we?

Pressman Academy is a thriving Early Childhood through 8th Grade Jewish day school in Los Angeles that parents, students, and teachers alike call their “second home.” relationships - between colleagues, with students, and in community - are at the core of what we do and who we are. For professionals, Pressman offers the opportunity to be part of a mission-driven, collaborative environment where your work has a direct impact on the lives of children and families. As a Finance Manager, you’ll help ensure the school’s financial strength, sustainability, and ability to deliver on its promise: graduating not just accomplished students, but true mensches—ethical, responsible young adults who are prepared to lead with heart.

Who are you?

You are an experienced financial professional who loves working with numbers. You take pride in digging into the details of budgets, reports, and forecasts, always seeking accuracy and clarity, and you can tell the story of the budget to many different stakeholders. At the same time, you see the budget as a living tool to help the school achieve its mission, and you are a thought partner and leader in helping the school make the best possible use of its resources. Your strategic love of the budget and numbers is matched only by your excitement to collaborate closely with department heads, your care and responsiveness toward parents, and your unwavering personal integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management, budgeting, or accounting, preferably in a nonprofit or educational setting
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Strong interpersonal skills in working with various stakeholders including Pressman department heads, parents, and the larger Finance department
  • Experience working with accounting software and financial systems (e.g., Financial Edge, QuickBooks, or similar)
  • Experience with Blackbaud, Financial Edge and ShulCloud a plus

Interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume to Dr. Erica Rothblum, Head of School, at [email protected].
