Sefaria, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building the future of Jewish texts in an open and participatory way, seeks a full-time Creative Marketing Manager to drive the organization's creative vision.

Position Overview

The Creative Marketing Manager is a full-time, remote US-based exempt position overseeing creative initiatives - both big and small - from concept to execution. They will own all design projects and ad campaigns for the organization's marketing, communications, and fundraising efforts. They will work closely with our design contractors, members of the marketing and communications team, the fundraising team, and the product team’s UX/UI designer.

The ideal candidate ensures projects are completed within budget and on time, while also delivering high-quality work. Responsible for the aesthetic, tone, and direction of creative, the Manager will report directly to the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications.

In this position, you will:

  • Lead creative projects, including developing ideas, presenting concepts, and managing execution
  • Develop ~4-6 creative briefs per quarter for larger campaigns and creative projects, including setting goals, defining audience and channels, and setting strategic direction for each project
  • Own the concepting and oversee the design of 20-30 creative assets per month, including: (60-70% of projects to be contracted out to external creatives)
    • Landing pages, pop-ups, and banners (Unbounce, Figma)
    • Videos (Premiere, AfterEffects)
    • Print and digital marketing materials (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
    • Email templates and design (Figma, Illustrator, ActiveCampaign)
    • Social media and ad creation - graphic and video (Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, AfterEffects)
    • Fundraising reports and materials (Illustrator, InDesign)
    • Presentations (Canva, Google Slides)
    • Other creative marketing and communications projects as they arise
  • Manage our paid advertising work (~4-6 new campaigns per year + evergreen and ongoing campaigns), including:
    • Executing our paid ad strategy for Google, Meta, YouTube, and other digital and print opportunities with support from the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications
    • Concepting ad campaigns and developing creative briefs
    • Writing creative copy and coordinating with in-house writers
    • Designing ad graphics
    • Overseeing contractors
  • Supervise and collaborate with creative contractors from concept to final delivery by writing briefs and providing feedback
  • Manage and prioritize multiple creative projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders (e.g., marketing team, product team) to understand project needs and objectives, and develop appropriate solutions
  • Develop and maintain creative standards, guidelines, and best practices
  • Monitor trends in the creative industry and apply them when appropriate

Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements

  • At least seven to ten years of experience in marketing and graphic design
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field such as graphic design or advertising
  • Proven track record of successful creative project management and developing successful ad campaigns
  • Experience using established brand guidelines to create visual assets
  • Ability to use knowledge of typography, color, and layout to create visually appealing designs (content and graphics) that clearly communicate information
  • High-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, AfterEffects), Figma, and Canva
  • HTML knowledge, preferred
  • Experience using project management software such as Monday.com, preferred
  • Proficiency in working with the technology in an online work environment, including GSuite, Slack, and Zoom (training will be provided, as needed)

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $82,000 to $86,000
  • Sefaria offers comprehensive medical insurance options, some of which are covered 100% by Sefaria for employees. Sefaria contributes an additional small amount towards dependent coverage

Location

The Creative Marketing Manager may be based anywhere in the continental United States, with a preference for Central and Eastern time zones.

  • Clear, short narratives for each entry, including your role in the project, and a problem and impact statement
