Program Director

THE JOB:

We are seeking a Program Director to support VBM in our Scottsdale office. This position would be responsible for leading and assisting with in-person and virtual events, supporting development activities, organizing activism efforts, engaging in community outreach and general office administration. Examples include (but are not limited to):

• Coordinating meaningful volunteer opportunities for people of all ages across Greater Phoenix, inspired by Jewish values
• Facilitating AJJ’s social action fellowship for young adults or teens, including mentoring fellows and organizing group learning sessions
• Supporting educational programs by attending virtual classes and providing assistance for in-person lectures and events
• Joining donor meetings and assisting the development team with biannual fundraising campaigns and mailings
• Participating in activist spaces, including rallies and protests, that align with our mission and values
• Building and maintaining partnerships with local organizations involved in social action and community work
• Managing occasional office needs, such as accepting donations, welcoming visitors, and offering administrative support

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Has a passion for Jewish learning
• Cares deeply about social justice
• Enjoys public speaking and thrives in community-centered, social environments
• Has at least 2 years of experience in the areas of program facilitation, volunteer management, community building or mentorship
• Is based in the Greater Phoenix area or is open to relocating
• Can successfully pass a background check

OTHER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Holds a college degree in a relevant field
• Is confident using tools like Google Suite, Zoom, Canva, and social media platforms
• Is an organized, self-motivated individual who can manage projects independently
• Is flexible and available for occasional evening and Sunday programming

THE POSITION:

• Full-time (40 hours/week)
• $50,000 – $60,000 annual salary depending on experience
• Health insurance coverage
• 10 paid vacation days annually, plus most federal and Jewish holidays off (when falling on weekdays)
• Flexible sick leave policy
• Relocation bonus available, if applicable
