Learning Support Coordinator

Bet Torah is seeking a Learning Support Coordinator. This part-time position is responsible for coordinating and implementing childrens’ learning plans and is supervised by the Director of Schleifer Learning Center for Instruction for Children of All Abilities.

Responsibilities: 

• On-site presence required at Bet Torah on Sunday mornings from 8:30 AM - 11 AM and 1-2 hours remote. Plus 10 hours in August and September for onboarding
• Assess students and develop coordinated learning plans with the Director of Schleifer Learning Center 
• Communicate with teachers and parents regarding the implementation and ongoing success of learning plans
• Work directly with students with a variety of learning challenges 
• Oversee SEITs or additional classroom support staff, as required

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children with diverse learning needs and their families preferred
• Background in basic Hebrew reading preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Exceptional ability to communicate

The Schleifer Learning Resource Center at Bet Torah serves students who need special assistance to access their Jewish education and feel comfortable in our synagogue. Our approach is individualized to help each student succeed at his or her own pace. We offer a continuum of support that may include a pull out component, a small class environment or an approach in between. Our goal is to integrate our students into learning and community programs as much as possible while supporting them for success.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly compensation commensurate with experience ranging from $20-$40 per hour
• Bet Torah is open to paying for a variety of transportation options to easily access our location for the right candidate.
