PART-TIME DIRECTOR
EMPLOYER: AEN Campus Group
A new campus group representing a community of faculty and staff in a NYC area university is seeking a part-time Director to build infrastructure, create a strategic plan, convene diverse stakeholders, and oversee 2-3 part-time Fellows as part of an effort to improve campus climate and advocate for inclusion of Jews, Israelis, and pro-Israel voices on campus.
The Director is a professional part-time staff member who will help establish and organize the campus group, establish relationships with key stakeholders, create a needs and assets assessment, and will help coordinate efforts of existing student leaders and campus fellows, as well as hire, train and supervise fellows.
The Director will schedule, facilitate, and maintain meeting records. They will create strategies, interventions and plans; write grant proposals and donor reports. The Director will create guidelines for membership in the organization and will recruit members and affiliates. The Director will develop and maintain a communications mechanism (i.e. a CRM system) and will create an online hub for ongoing shared information and events. May coordinate with partners in Israel and coordinate Faculty/Staff Mission Trips to Israel. Will report to the Board of Directors.
Requirements: Experience in nonprofit management, strategic planning, database management, grant-writing, communications and media relations. Experience founding or leading a coalition-based nonprofit advocacy organization. Strong knowledge of Jewish community, college antisemitism, higher education culture and governance models, and related topics. Excellent interpersonal skills, diplomacy, emotional intelligence.
Must be flexible in scheduling and able to respond quickly to last-minute events or challenges.
Part-time, 15-25 hours per week at $50 per hour
