Position Title: Event & Administrative Coordinator

Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Event & Administrative Coordinator to provide essential support to the leadership team of our congregation. This role is central to both the administrative operations and the successful execution of events at our synagogue. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, problem-solver, and multitasker who thrives in a dynamic, community-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for congregants, visitors, and staff—delivering exceptional customer service in person and via email.
  • Coordinate all event logistics for synagogue functions, including weekly Kiddush luncheons, lifecycle events, and community programs.
  • Act as the primary liaison for vendors, including caterers, ensuring all details are managed from setup to breakdown.
  • Collaborate with clergy and staff to facilitate logistical and religious support, including scheduling for the community Mikvah.
  • Procure supplies for events, synagogue operations, and preschool needs.
  • Maintain and manage all organizational calendars and scheduling systems.
  • Monitor building access and ensure a welcoming and secure environment.
  • Support day-to-day office operations, including email correspondence and general administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace is required.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to compose, edit, and proofread a wide range of documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Warm and professional interpersonal style with the ability to interact with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Previous experience in event planning, office coordination, or a customer-facing role is a plus.
