Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing mail, inputting invoices, making payments via checks and wires, mailing disbursements, responding to staff and vendor inquiries, posting entries in the accounts payable system MIP Abila Fund Accounting Software (MIP).

Major Responsibilities:

Processing mail including dating, determining method of payment and routing for approvals.
Inputting invoices in both MIP and purchasing system (Mikrofax).
Downloading and importing grant payments and related credits into MIP.
Processing both check disbursements and ACH payments.
Filing and maintaining vendor files.
Handling vendor and staff inquiries.


Minimum of three-five years of accounts payable experience
Associates Degree in accounting preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
Must be organized, detail oriented and have the ability to communicate and enforce the organization’s accounting policies and procedures
Ability to tabulate and input with accuracy and speed
Computer proficiency in Accounts Payable software, Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook.

Experience Preferred:

2 years: accounts payable
