Description

The Senior Director of Finance serves on the leadership team and is responsible for the financial affairs of the SJCC, supervising financial staff members. This includes financial reporting on a timely basis, maintaining bank and other credit institution relationships, cash management and forecasting, budget preparation and reporting, contract review and approval, oversight and reporting of the retirement savings programs, coordination of annual audit, tax returns, governmental information returns and overall interface between the Finance Department and all other SJCC program areas. The Senior Director provides lead support and direction as well as ensuring the accuracy and transparency of organizational finances to the finance committee.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Leadership & Operations
    • Lead and manage all day-to-day financial operations including AP/AR, Payroll, Cash Management, Budgeting, Capital Planning, and Fixed Assets 
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
    • Prepare timely, accurate GAAP-compliant financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) for CEO, Executive Team, and Board 
  • Budget & Cash Flow Management
    • Plan and manage annual budget process with CEO and department leaders, delivering draft to Board finance committee by late summer 
  • External Relations & Compliance
    • Coordinate annual audit process with independent auditors and present findings to Board 
  • Systems & Communication
    • Establish and manage internal controls, processes, and financial procedures to ensure reporting integrity 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive, non-profit financial management experience. 
  • Ability to prepare financial reports and analysis for the leadership of the J. 
  • Good communication skills, excellent project and time management skills, and the ability to interpret and report complex financial data to a range of different audiences. 
  • Ability to perform professionally and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, growing organization
