Jewish Federation of Cincinnati | Cincinnati, OH, United States

Posted Date 9/12/2022

The Jewish Federation of Cincinnati (“JFC”), the backbone Jewish organization, is hiring a Community Building Associate, Chaverim, within the Community Building Department. The JFC connects our community, solves big problems, and stewards community resources. We welcome all cultural backgrounds and faiths including those of every socioeconomic status, race, gender, national background, sexual orientation, gender identity, and physical, mental, and developmental ability. Grounded in Jewish values, together with you, our volunteers, and partner organizations, we support the vulnerable, nurture connections with Israel and Jewish communities globally, and protect and energize Jewish life. We feed the hungry, comfort the sick, care for elderly, and educate our youth. We are your community’s organization problem-solvers and opportunity-makers, committed to ensuring the strength and quality of Jewish life for our children and our children’s children.

The Community Building Department of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati works directly with local agencies and volunteers to assess the needs of Jewish Cincinnati and to foster its growth and strength. Additionally, we develop leaders, cultivate young adult participation, and educate about Israel.

The Chaverim M’Israel (Friends from Israel) program brings two post-high school teenagers from our Israel partnership city, Netanya, to Cincinnati to share themselves and what they know about Israeli life with people across the Cincinnati area. Each year, the two Chaverim meet about 5,000 kids, teens and families. They teach in both Jewish and non-Jewish schools and organizations across Greater Cincinnati. In the summer, they are counselors at Camp Livingston.

The Community Building Associate, Chaverim, is a full-time employee of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati (JFC) and is responsible for managing the Chaverim Program, supervising the Chaverim, and assisting with programming and projects related to Israel. The Community Building Associate, Chaverim, is responsible for planning, coordinating, scheduling, promoting, and assisting the Chaverim in implementation of creative activities and outreach related to Israel. The Community Building Associate, Chaverim, will also have other responsibilities to support the goals of the department.

The Community Building Associate will work most Sundays and some evenings.
