Position Overview

The Jewish Fertility Foundation (JFF) engages hopeful parents by providing financial assistance, emotional support, and infertility education to those struggling to build their families. JFF is seeking a dynamic and outgoing team player to lead the JFF-Detroit/Cincinnati team. 

Who We’re Looking For:

We seek someone who will enhance JFF’s presence in the community with individuals in need, local organizations, local fertility clinics, and local Synagogues. The JFF-Detroit/Cincinnati Regional Manager will recruit more individuals to the JFF-community, deepen pre-existing relationships in the JFF-community, and increase community programming in both locations.

This is a full-time position (with flexible hours) and pays a salary of $60,000 - $63,000 (based on experience) + PTO for Parental Leave + major Jewish holidays off/vacation time + 403b, + $3,000 annual health insurance stipend + an annual professional development stipend.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Emotional Support: Work directly with local mental health providers to create and oversee JFF-Community Support offerings including community-based support groups and JFF’s fertility buddies program. This includes engaging with community members in both locations to ensure we are meeting the needs of the community.
  • Educational Awareness and Training: Create regional-based educational programs including Clergy Trainings and Fertility Clinic trainings and work with JFF National Program Director to engage community members in National educational programming. 
  • Community Events: In collaboration with Managing Director of Programs, plan and implement 3+ regional based events per year (ex- Shabbat dinners, Jewish holiday events, park meetups, wine nights, etc.) and 5+ Live Discussions per year in each location to engage community members and increase the awareness of infertility. 
  • Community Liaison: Serve as a JFF representative at community events and work closely with the Community Advisory Council and Community volunteers. 
  • Volunteer Cultivation and Management: Collaborate with the local volunteers and ambassadors in both locations on the creation and marketing and advertising of local community programs and build a greater volunteer base.
  • Database Management: Maintain participant tracking and fundraising in our database.
  • Marketing: Market and recruit new individuals to the local JFF community in both locations and promote all National programs on a local level. 
    • Write stories about JFF’s mission and programs for local Jewish and general websites, newspapers, social media, etc. 
    • Collect testimonials from clients on a quarterly basis and/or after each big program. 
    • Establish and manage local marketing budget and advertisements. 
    • Create and manage local advertisements.
  • Relationship Building: In partnership with the Development team, the JFF-Detroit/Cincinnati Regional Manager will build and pass along local connections. Each year, JFF participates in Crowdfunding, a 1-2 day campaign to raise funds for the organization.  We expect the manager to work with the Development Director and support this effort.
  • Administrative Tasks & Special Projects: Coordinate with 3rd party vendors, help execute special and new projects, etc. 

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Experience: A minimum of 5-7+ years of relevant experience is required.
  • Empathy and Energy: We are looking for someone who is mature, sensitive, and empathetic towards the infertility community. This individual should also be a self-starter who is energetic and enthusiastic to build out our organization in Detroit and Cincinnati. This person must have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively and must be willing and able to take initiative. 
  • Strong organizational skills: This person must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality across all areas. He/she must have a passion for community organizing and building, and must be a skilled project manager with attention to detail who can manage and juggle multiple projects.
  • Strong written and verbal skills: This person must be effective at communicating with a variety of stakeholders including clients, doctors, therapists, and donors. 
  • Proficient in technology: This person must have the ability to learn and manage our Database (Bloomerang) and utilize social media platforms. 
  • Community leader: This person must have a strong understanding of and appreciation for JFF’s target audience of individuals and couples experiencing infertility from diverse Jewish backgrounds and affiliations. He or she must be familiar and comfortable with the local Jewish community landscape in both locations. 
  • Education: a Bachelor’s degree is required in a related field. A deep understanding of our mission is highly valued. 
  • Travel: Quarterly overnight travel possible when needed.
  • Candidates must reside in Metro-Detroit. Must be available to work at JFF programs during some weeknight evenings and weekends.
