Position Summary

The Director, Digital, Data & Media plays a critical role in helping BRIF achieve its fundraising goals and deepen donor engagement. This leader will oversee all aspects of BRIF's digital presence—planning, executing, and measuring paid media and social campaigns—with a clear focus on inspiring generosity, strengthening relationships with donors, and expanding our base of supporters.

Your work will directly support BRIF's mission by ensuring that our digital strategy amplifies our story, engages donors at every level, and drives the resources needed to send thousands of young Jewish adults on Birthright Israel trips each year.

The Birthright Israel Foundation ("BRIF") is dedicated to raising the funds necessary to ensure that every eligible young Jewish adult has the opportunity to experience the transformative power of a trip to Israel. Through these life-changing journeys, we strengthen Jewish identity, build community, and foster a lifelong connection to Israel and the Jewish people.

BRIF is seeking a Director, Digital, Data & Media to join our passionate team and lead the way in how we connect with our community online. This role is perfect for someone who combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership and wants to make a meaningful impact in the Jewish nonprofit world.

  • New York, NY (preferred) or Remote (we are open to exceptional candidates based elsewhere within the U.S.)

  • Chief Marketing Officer

Compensation

  • $100,000-$125,000
  • FLSA: Exempt

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Donor Engagement & Fundraising Impact
    • Develop and lead BRIF's digital media strategy to increase donor acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
    • Create campaigns that inspire giving and demonstrate the impact of supporting Birthright Israel.
    • Partner with the Development team to ensure digital efforts align with fundraising priorities and donor journeys.
    • Work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer to ensure digital efforts support organizational priorities.
  • Digital Strategy & Execution
    • Oversee paid media campaigns across platforms such as Google, Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, and others to reach prospective donors and re-engage existing supporters.
    • Manage BRIF's social media presence (paid and organic), ensuring content reflects our mission and resonates with our community.
    • Collaborate with creative teams to produce compelling, donor-focused content and storytelling.
    • Manage relationships with vendors and agencies, ensuring accountability and strong performance.
  • Data & Insights
    • Analyze performance metrics such as click-through rates, conversion rates, and engagement trends to understand what drives donor action.
    • Design and implement A/B testing for emails, ads, and landing pages to continuously improve results.
    • Use data to personalize donor communications, ensuring the right message reaches the right audience at the right time.
    • Share insights with leadership and colleagues to inform strategy and optimize campaigns for maximum fundraising impact.
  • Culture
    • Mentor and guide team members, promoting professional growth and collaboration.
    • Help BRIF reach its highest potential by strengthening workplace culture, including a focus on recruiting top talent from among alumni to join the organization.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing or media; background in supporting fundraising or donor engagement is a plus.
  • Proven ability to use digital channels and data-driven insights to drive measurable results for nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
  • Strong understanding of paid media, social media, and digital engagement strategies.
  • Ability to translate data into insights and communicate results to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves when needed.
  • A collaborative leader who thrives in a mission-driven environment.
  • A self-driven professional with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • An expert at agility who can pivot on projects when the facts on the ground shift.
