Job Summary 

The Associate Director of Development, Institutional Advancement will facilitate lifelong engagement among donors, alumni, friends, parents, faculty, staff, and students. This position is committed to enhancing the fundraising and alumni engagement for the Hillel Jewish campus life community and Student Life affinity groups. The primary function is to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with the ultimate goals of generating philanthropic support for these areas of the University.

Essential Functions 

  • Coordinate with the Assistant Vice President on creating an operating plan that outlines fundraising goals and strategies for the fiscal year
  • Maintain a schedule of fifteen (15) meetings face to face meetings per month with annual giving prospects and donors
  • Develop and implements programs that encourage constituents to progress as   donors by joining the Anthony J. Drexel Society ($1,000 or more annually). In addition to alumni, such constituencies may include faculty, staff, parents, and friends
  • Identify and move high level annual giving donors to the major gift pool, helping to grow and feed the donor pipeline. Qualify prospects for future giving capacity of $25,000 or more
  • Act as a liaison between Hillel/Student Life and the Office of Alumni Relations and Drexel Fund to foster activities and philanthropic support that contribute to the growth and sustainability of the affinity groups
  • In coordination with unit and IA leadership, identify key volunteers and constituencies to help support Hillel and Student Success programs and initiatives
  • Support the Office of Institutional Advancement and the Hillel and Student Life staff in implementing alumni events and fundraising programs throughout the year
  • Act as a liaison between Hillel/Student Life and the Office of Alumni Relations and Drexel Fund to foster activities and philanthropic support that contribute to the growth and sustainability of the affinity groups
  • In coordination with unit and IA leadership, identify key volunteers and constituencies to help support Hillel and Student Success programs and initiatives
  • Support the Office of Institutional Advancement and the Hillel and Student Life staff in implementing alumni events and fundraising programs throughout the year
  • Work in collaboration with the Assistant Vice President and the Associate Director to disseminate information and appropriately publicize accomplishments of alumni
  • Promote University priorities and image to constituents. Serves as front line staff to promote campus goals and objectives. Maintains current knowledge of university-wide institutional priorities
  • Follows Institutional Advancement procedures with regard to prospect management and documenting contacts

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Three or more years’ experience of demonstrated success in annual giving fundraising and alumni relations outreach in a higher education development program or comparable experience.
  • Program and pipeline building experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends required
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required
  • Excellent administrative skills required
  • Valid Driver's License 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience staffing volunteers
  • Knowledge of prospect management systems preferred
  • Knowledge of database fundraising software CS Advance preferred
  • Digital fundraising experience preferred
