Executive Director (ED)

It is the responsibility of the Executive Director (ED) to oversee all functions of school related to operations and finance, including but not limited to creation and oversight of strategic action plans, oversight, implementation and analysis of tuition and financial aid, all aspects of human resources, direction and management of facilities, procurement and oversight of liability insurance, oversight and implementation of emergency procedures, process and functionality of the school’s educational assessment system, organizational leadership and structure.  As such, this position requires the ability to multi-task and work within deadlines. The ED must be customer service oriented and be able to work cooperatively with parents, students, vendors and staff.  

The ED position is a full time, year-round exempt position and reports to the Board of Trustees.  The ED is expected to attend monthly Board meetings and events outside of school hours as deemed necessary by the Board Chair, in order to represent the school in the best possible light.  A summary of duties includes the following:

  • Supporting and Evaluating any staff who oversee Administrative Duties including: development and donor cultivation, alumni relations, admissions, retention and advancement, financial aid, enrollment, marketing, event coordination, office management, registrar and student services, accounting, payroll and benefits, facilities, and finance and audit compliance

  • Oversight of all legal documents and pending litigation in consultation with Lawyers and insurance teams

  • Collaborating with the Board in guiding the preparation of agendas for Board meetings, communication events, open parent forums, and the long-range planning and development of the School;

  • Communicating the mission of the School to internal and external constituencies in a consistent and compelling manner, thereby sustaining the School’s place as a preferred choice for independent education in Los Gatos, California;

  • Consulting on evaluation over Faculty and curriculum with the Educational Administration Team;

  • Nurturing relationships with various constituencies thereby enhancing the School’s strong sense of community and connectedness;

  • Working with the administration, volunteers, and the Board, to champion fundraising efforts in order to meet short- and long-term needs of the School; 

  • Working with the Educational Administration Team to provide inputs on academic programs for the annual budget and oversee the business and financial aspects of the School to support a financially sound organization; 

  • Subject to the policy guidelines established by the Board, providing input towards institutional, educational, and academic programs, employing, managing and discharging the faculty and administrative team and personnel, providing administrative and educational leadership, enrolling and dismissing students, and managing the day-to-day operation of the School; and

  • Working with the administration, volunteers, and the Board, to drive student enrollment and retention efforts in order to build student population numbers year-over-year and meet short- and long-term goals of the School

Compensation and Benefits:

$120,000-$150,000 Salary
