Religious School Teacher

Temple Sholom is a Reform Jewish congregation located in Scotch Plains, NJ. We pride ourselves on being a haimische congregation – warm and welcoming, and we are seeking to welcome new teachers for the 2025-26 school year.

If you have a passion for Judaism, are organized, creative, and for Tuesday positions read Hebrew and are familiar with Reform melodies of chanting prayers and blessings, then we are looking for you! We also welcome inquiries for substitute teaching positions.

Our Religious School meets on Sundays, 9:30AM-11:30AM and Hebrew School meets on Tuesdays from 4:00PM-6:00PM, September through May. Responsibilities would include but are not limited to: developing and adhering to weekly lesson plans, regular (weekly) communication with parents, work with madrichim (teacher’s aides) in the classroom, participation in trimester staff meetings, and attendance at class family Shabbat Services during the year.
