Jewish Council for Youth Services (JCYS) is a 114-year-old, Chicago-based nonprofit organization that provides early childhood education and camping programs to a diverse community across Chicagoland. With a budget of over $9 million, JCYS programs touch over 500 families a year through four locations. In addition, JCYS’s Board of Directors is a training ground for future Jewish and civic leaders and serve as important fiduciaries of the agency. Our leadership development program is not only half of our mission, it is an intentional and planned series of experiences and trainings to fully prepare our board members for a life of leadership.

The Advancement and Leadership Development Coordinator is a dynamic position for a team-oriented, innovative, and hardworking individual who will joyfully provide a full range of administrative support to the CEO, the Advancement Team, and provide overall management of the Central Office. This person will handle logistics and matters related the Board of Directors and must maintain strong positive interpersonal relationships with donors, volunteers, and employees at all levels of the organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage all meetings (virtual and in person) related to the Board of Directors and board committees, including scheduling of internal and external meetings, arranging conference calls, and managing RSVP’s and
  • Attend monthly Board and Executive Committee meetings and record the meeting  
  • Work closely with the CEO and others to plan and execute the logistics for the Annual Meeting, Gala, Leadership Society, and other Provide on-site support at all such events
  • Serve as the point-person for the Board of Directors and the Leadership Circle, which includes accurate data tracking and a range of event planning
  • Provide primary administrative support for the CEO and work closely with her to manage administrative functions on all matters related to resource development, leadership development, and overall management of the agency. Is also available to assist the COO and CFO as
  • Prepare, compose, and initiate various documents, often confidential in nature.
  • Work with donor database and manage certain aspects of it.
  • Responsible for managing the Central Office including monitoring and ordering supplies, catering, and handling interactions with  building

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business or Non-Profit Management preferred).
  • Prior relevant experience with proven ability to manage confidential matters and multiple demands on
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Customer relationship management system experience is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with emphasis on priorities and goal
  • Superior communication skills, both written and oral; excellent customer service and phone
