Job Title: Sunday School Teacher

Location: Center for Jewish Life at Beth David, Miami, FL

Pay: $75 per hour

Position Type: Part-time (Sundays only)

Schedule: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Sundays

Position Duration: September 2024 - May 2025

About Us:

The Center for Jewish Life at Beth David is dedicated to nurturing a vibrant, inclusive Jewish community.

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time Sunday School Teacher for our K-7th grade Judaic/Hebrew classes. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our dynamic educational environment while working with a supportive team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans based on a collaborative.
  • Teach about Jewish holidays, traditions, and values in a meaningful way.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports both learning and spiritual growth.
  • Assess and monitor students' progress, offering feedback and support as necessary.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding their child’s progress and any concerns.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
  • Participate in Sunday School events

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Jewish traditions, holidays, and customs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop engaging lesson plans and manage a classroom effectively.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Comfort with teaching children and a genuine enthusiasm for Jewish education.
  • Basic proficiency in conversational Hebrew is a plus, but not required.
  • Competency with Zoom and other virtual communication tools.

Preferred:

  • Previous teaching experience, especially in a religious or supplementary school setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Jewish Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience with curriculum development.
