Program & Event Coordinator (full-time)

 

Temple Emanu-El of Palm Beach, a warm and welcoming conservative synagogue, is seeking a full-time Program & Event Coordinator.  This dynamic individual collaborates with synagogue leadership, staff, and volunteers to create engaging and meaningful experiences that strengthen the congregation and promote its mission.  In addition, the Coordinator will work with media outlets to promote visibility and pursue advertising.

 

The ideal candidate has the following qualities:

 

  • Experience in planning, organizing and running successful programs and events
  • Familiarity with Jewish rituals, holidays and life-cycle traditions is a plus
  • A team-player with exceptional interpersonal skills, possessing a positive attitude and high level of decorum and confidentiality
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Organized, efficient and able to multi-task with attention to detail
  • Experience in Public Relations and has relationships with various media outlets
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  1. Programming 
  • Create and oversee diverse programming initiatives, events, and activities for different age groups, including children, adults, and seniors.
  • Work with committees and marketing staff to best advertise programs and events, contacting media outlets for coverage and submitting press releases and media calendars.
  • Identify and engage external resources, guest speakers, and organizations to enhance the quality and variety of programming.
  • Oversee all operational aspects of events including room set up, budgetary needs, securing vendors, and coordination of logistics.
  1. Communication and Marketing
  • Coordinate marketing needs to maintain the synagogue’s website, social media channels, newsletters, and other communication platforms.
  • Create compelling content that highlights the synagogue’s initiatives and achievements, including articles, recap videos, and promotional materials.
  1. Collaboration and Teamwork
  • Work closely with synagogue clergy, staff, and lay leadership to align programming and communication efforts with the synagogue’s vision and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with synagogue professionals and volunteers to integrate programming and communication seamlessly.

 

Candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule to be present at most programs and events, including some evenings and weekends.  This is an in-person position, in a non-smoking and drug-free workplace.  Salary will commensurate with experience.  Benefits available.  A criminal and credit background check will be performed.
