About Golda Och Academy
Golda Och Academy is a vibrant learning community that focuses on the individual intellectual, social, and spiritual needs of each child. We cultivate in students a lifelong love of learning within the context of Jewish knowledge and heritage. Our school is located on two campuses — one for the Lower School and one for the Upper School — located about two miles apart in West Orange, serving approximately 425 students from more than 60 communities across New Jersey.
Position
Golda Och Academy is accepting applications for a for a Judaic Studies Early Childhood teacher at the Lower School campus for the 2023-2024 school year.
Responsibilities
Candidates should be nurturing, compassionate, and comfortable engaging with a range of learners, equipped to meet the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of the students in their care. Qualified candidates will be masterful educators, with experience in teaching early Hebrew skills (letter recognition and formation), Hebrew acquisition, Jewish holidays, and Parashat HaShavua. Ideal candidates are comfortable differentiating instruction and possess strong oral and written communication skills.
In addition, candidates will have experience writing weekly lesson plans, experience with student assessment, and creating progress reports. The Judaic Studies teacher will work collaboratively with the General Studies co-teacher, enabling an integration of curricula across disciplines. We expect our teachers to have a track record of professionalism in parent communication and will seek to meet and exceed the high standards for customer service that GOA promotes. Proficiency with educational technology, organization skills, and classroom management are required.
