Special Education Teacher

We are looking for Elementary School (Grades 1-5) and Middle School (Grades 6-8) special education teachers who have a degree in the field. In Middle School we are specifically looking for a math and science teacher. In High School we are looking for an English/History teacher.

Florida State certification is preferred. We can help prospective teachers apply for Florida State certification.

Responsibilities Include:

• Implement an instructional, program for assigned students and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Collaborate with other members of staff and administrators to develop IEP
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, and materials that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and capabilities of each student.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants
• Use technology in the teaching/learning process.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the social and emotional development of students.
• Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
• Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
