Temple Beth Torah is a progressive Conservative synagogue in the Metrowest suburbs of Boston, MA. As a small and thriving congregation, we are a very close and supportive community with a high passion for volunteerism and cooperation.
TBT is looking for a part-time Temple Administrator who is a self-starter with people management skills and a penchant for organizing. The Administrator must be comfortable with office staff and congregants, managing projects, working with our online systems, and interacting with clergy and various committees as needed to help our congregation operate smoothly. The Temple Administrator reports to the President of Temple Beth Torah.
Responsibilities
Management: In coordination with TBT Executive Leadership, hire and manage office staff and service contractors.
Finance: Direct our bookkeeper as needed to assure smooth and accurate accounts payable. Assist Temple leadership in financial reporting and preparing the annual budget. Monitor Temple credit card use and approve credit card payments.
Planning: Manage the annual calendar planning process. Coordinate volunteers as needed for various Temple programs and activities. Help to plan and implement High Holiday and other significant services and programs.
Facilities: Organize facility and logistical needs such as room setup for events. Engage service contractors as needed for cleaning service, repairs, landscaping, and other maintenance. Identify and manage projects to maintain and improve safety and regulatory compliance.

Requirements
We prefer a candidate with experience working in the office environment for a not-for-profit or faith-based organization. A successful candidate should have a working knowledge of systems such as ShulCloud and Quickbooks, or be a fast and self-directed learner. Candidates should have a good sense of business systems and the way that organizations need to manage information, people, and money. The Temple Administrator is the focal point for many activities, and must be able to multitask and prioritize, and should not get flustered by competing projects and deadlines, and a variety of personalities.
