Keneseth Israel Congregation (Louisville, KY) seeks an administrative assistant:
Responsibilities:
General receptionist duties - greet all congregants, staff and visitors entering the office
Answer phones - screen and direct calls, answer questions, take messages and process contributions
Prepare, print and mail letters and other correspondence
Maintain Member and Donor Databases
Maintain Calendar of Events
Maintain organized filing systems
Copying, faxing, data entry, mail and delivery sorting
Office supply inventory maintenance and ordering
Keep office area and other relevant areas clean and organized, including various storage spaces
Help set up for events and services
Keeping our internet presence current - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, website (Wordpress)
Create flyers, paper newsletters, email newsletters, and other such materials
Other general clerical functions and staff support as needed
Skills:
Organized with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
Meets deadlines
Manages multiple tasks and projects while tending to the needs of the synagogue, its congregants and staff
High level of computer literacy, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint)
Membership database experience
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong workflow management skills
Maintains confidential information and uses discretion
Takes initiative to complete responsibilities
Follows directions
Graphic design knowledge
Synagogue experience and knowledge of Jewish customs a plus
Prior administrative experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Working hours:
20 hours/week
Our preference is Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. but we can be somewhat flexible on the hours worked per week.
Expected to work a portion of the High Holy Days
Job starts as soon as possible
Compensation:
Hourly rate commensurate with experience
