Join Our Religious School Staff at Temple Shalom in Medford!

Temple Shalom, a warm and welcoming egalitarian Conservative synagogue, is seeking passionate part-time Religious School Teachers for the 5786 school year and beyond. If you're skilled in teaching Hebrew reading and prayers, creative with children, and have experience in a Jewish camp, classroom, or youth group setting, we want to hear from you!

Position Details:

• Teach in our vibrant program for Grades Pre-K – 7, with classes meeting on Sunday mornings, 9:30am - 12:00pm, and Wednesday afternoons (grades 3-7 only), 3:30pm - 5:30pm.
• Subjects include modern Hebrew, Hebrew prayers, Jewish values, holidays, Torah, history, and Israel.
• You’ll have access to a comprehensive curriculum, teaching materials, and ongoing support - collaboration with the director is encouraged.
• The school year runs from September 7, 2025, to May 3, 2026.

Requirements:

• A strong Jewish background
• Enthusiasm for working with children
• Willingness to apply best practices in lesson planning and classroom management, with resources and training provided

Compensation:

• Competitive pay: $40-$85/hour, depending on experience.
