Position Summary: We are looking for passionate teachers who love creating engaging, hands-on, and family-centered Jewish learning. Our program runs September through May and combines creativity, community, and Jewish tradition in every session.

Who We Are: Jewish Gateways is an open, diverse, and innovative Jewish community in the East Bay. Our family-based learning program, Growing Together, meets twice a month on Saturday mornings in Berkeley. Children and parents learn both together and separately, creating a warm, positive atmosphere where families can explore Judaism in meaningful and accessible ways.

Compensation: $50-$60 per hour, depending on experience.

• Experience working with elementary aged children.
• Basic knowledge of Jewish traditions, holidays, and values
• A talent for engaging children in creative, active learning
• A collaborative spirit and a desire to help build a diverse, nurturing community
• A commitment to kind and professional communication with parents and colleagues

Your Responsibilities

• Teach for 90 minutes and supervise for 60 minutes each session (10:00 am–12:30 pm, twice per month; teaching takes place from 10:30–12:00)
• Develop lesson plans in collaboration with the Family Learning Director
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
