The Alfred and Adele Davis Academy, an independent Kindergarten Prep- Eighth Grade School in Dunwoody / Sandy Springs, seeks a dynamic and detailed oriented Development Associate to join our Advancement team. This individual will support fundraising and stewardship efforts through community engagement, special events coordination, strategic communications, and administrative support. The qualified individual in this position will interact with a wide range of constituents including parents, alumni, alumni parents, grandparents, faculty and staff to foster lasting relationships that support the mission and vision of the school.

The Development Associate will work closely with an integrated team that includes the Director of Institutional Advancement, Annual Giving Manager, Gifts and Records Manager and Director of Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in executing the school’s comprehensive fundraising plan including annual, programmatic and special fundraising initiatives:

  • Collaborate with Annual Giving Manager and Advancement team to support all aspects of the Annual Campaign plan including volunteer engagement, communications and donor stewardship, solicitation and recognition.
  • Collaborate with Advancement team members to support all aspects of the Georgia State Education Tax Credit/GOAL Scholarship Program fundraising effort to meet annual objectives, including volunteer engagement, program communications and contributor stewardship, participation and recognition.
  • Provide support and coordination for key fundraising and community events, such as the annual auction, Golf Tournament, Grandparent and Special Friends Day, donor recognition events and school wide celebrations.
  • Assist with coordinating year-round Advancement communications including annual Davis Day of Giving, Annual Impact Report, donor brochures, and promotional content that communicates the school’s mission and impact.
  • Work together with Advancement team members to ensure strong and effective volunteer engagement and donor stewardship programs. Includes partnering with the Annual Giving manager to recruit, train, and support volunteers involved in fundraising efforts, alumni outreach and special initiatives. Also includes building relationships across donor constituencies including parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni parents, faculty, and community members.
  • Support the school’s efforts to enhance and maintain strong alumni relationships through personalized outreach, routine alumni stewardship, organized communication strategies, and events, reunions, and programs.
  • Collaborates with Gifts and Records Manager in maintaining files and records and ensuring alumni and donor data is regularly updated and integrated.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Proven ability to multi task and manage competing priorities with poise and professionalism
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Service oriented problem-solver who is able to successfully work with diverse individuals
  • Strong computer skills including competency in Microsoft Office and experience with web mail and social media platforms
  • Professional experience in nonprofit, fundraising or event planning
