Congregation Kehillath Israel (“KI”) in Brookline, MA is seeking a 3rd Grade religious school teacher to teach Judaics and Hebrew language in the Kehillath Israel Religious School (KIRS). Judaics topics include weekly parsha, Jewish history, Jewish holidays, and prayer. As we are a Conservative shul, teachers must be comfortable teaching traditional prayer liturgy. Class is in session from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the school year, with Thursday afternoons including a one hour experiential education block, which this teacher will work with the Director of Family Engagement to plan and implement. Teachers will be expected to plan their own lessons outside of school hours.
For additional hours and compensation, teacher could take on additional responsibilities, including but not limited to leading Shabbat morning youth services, picking up students from school and walking them to KI, and working with the Director of Family Engagement to oversee other aspects of the school.
