About You

Visionary Leader with a Strategic Mindset

Working with the Board of Directors and CEO as well as the broader FIDF executive leadership team, the EVP will be a visionary leader with the ability to contextualize and transform short- and long-term strategies into an operational framework to advance the mission and work of FIDF. This individual with be a big-picture thinker with the gravitas to rally the team toward a unified vision with clear and articulated organizational priorities, goals, and outcomes.

The EVP will generate creative, innovative, and resource solutions to business and environmental challenges while building consensus to support implementation among constituents across different geographies. This leader will also possess an acute level of foresight, being able to react and shift organizational objectives as needed. With an ability to analyze problems and solutions in a proactive and constructive manner, the EVP’s efforts will result in improved performance across the organization, ensuring fundraising goals are met and exceeded to further deepen FIDF’s impact.

 

Operational Excellence and Business Acumen

The EVP will bring deep expertise in supporting, developing, and directing operations in a complex fundraising organization by translating FIDF’s organizational vision into an operational framework, implementing necessary infrastructure and systems across all departments. This individual will be a seasoned, process-minded leader with proven experience and capability to define FIDF’s business plan while spearheading its execution throughout the organization. The EVP will set objectives and expectations that will result in improved performance across the organization, increasing employee morale and satisfaction. This leader will bring organizational and operational best practices, coordinating all chapters into cohesive fundraising operations that proactively leverage opportunities and address challenges with effective solutions.

 

Change Management and Organizational Development

The EVP will be a catalyst for change and growth, inspiring others to think entrepreneurially and contribute new ideas. The EVP will have a demonstrated track record of improving efficiency, streamlining processes and systems, and developing a high-performance culture among a group of diverse, talented individuals. A problem solver and critical thinker, this leader will apply strong quantitative and analytical skills to ensure ongoing assessment of infrastructure to confirm existing programs are supporting staff while meeting the needs of donors and the broader FIDF community, ultimately achieving the organization's strategic objectives. The EVP will have the confidence to commit to organizational decisions while holding staff accountable, ensuring consistency of roles and responsibilities for each leadership position across the organization.

 

Trusted Manager, Mentor, and Relationship Builder

The EVP will be a galvanizing and approachable leader, authentically engaging with staff to quickly establish trust and credibility in their leadership. With strong internal management capabilities, this individual will be skilled at building effective relationships to improve organizational culture, provide stability, and rebuild a sense of community within FIDF.

Comfortable in times of ambiguity and managing in all directions, the EVP will have the ability to develop a powerful sense of shared purpose in others and motivate them to engage in the opportunities and challenges ahead. Approaching others with a deep level of respect, empathy, and curiosity, the EVP will motivate others to take action and foster an environment that allows for the building of consensus and recognition of teamwork.

 

Excellent Communicator and Collaborative Leader

Experienced yet humble, the EVP will understand the importance of collaborating with other leaders within FIDF and will be known as an active and responsive listener. It is imperative that this person is an excellent and persuasive communicator with exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to promote an atmosphere of partnership across the organization. This leader will have high emotional intelligence with the ability to respond effectively to staff – building bridges, creating synergies, and connecting people to the values, mission, and goals of the organization.

The EVP will be a passionate and empathetic leader who effortlessly embodies the mission and work of FIDF. The ideal candidate will bring an entrepreneurial spirit to build upon the long-standing history of the organization while simultaneously developing and promoting a forward thinking, well respected, and effectively functioning organization. Understanding the nuances of leading within an American-Israeli organization, this leader will be energized working in a national organization, while continually innovating to help expand its reach. This EVP will be an individual of unquestioned integrity, ethics, and values; someone who can be trusted without reservation.

 

About The Role

Working closely with FIDF’s Board, CEO, and Executive Leadership, the Executive Vice President (EVP) will be a strategic, collaborative, and inspiring leader who will play a significant role in defining and carrying out a unified vision and mission for FIDF. The EVP is responsible for the daily management and operations of the organization and for implementing the strategic vision, direction, and commitments set forth by the CEO and Board of Directors.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this newly created position will provide the necessary leadership and management to ensure FIDF has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people and systems in place to effectively grow the organization to ensure fiscal strength and operating efficiency. With a keen interest and leadership capability to build a collaborative fundraising environment, this individual will develop and lead the execution of an organizational strategic roadmap to best position FIDF for continued growth and secure long-term sustainability. Lastly, the EVP will hold a decisive and inspiring focus on outcomes with an innovative and intelligent approach to taking risks; play a diplomatic role working directly with regional and chapter leaders; foster alignment and collaboration across the organization; oversee all FIDF strategic planning with metrics to drive accountability; and regularly make decisions critical to the short-term and long-term success of FIDF.

 

 

Benefits                                                                                                                       

  • The salary range for this role is $350,000 - $400,000 with a generous benefits package.
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Early dismal for Shabbat, 403b with employer matching, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, FSA, Jewish and Federal paid holidays, sick days and vacation.
