About the Role:

We are expanding our finance team with a new Accounting Analyst to support our growing needs. This role will take on traditional responsibilities of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), while collaborating with the existing team to build greater structure and accountability around our processes. The Analyst will also contribute to financial analysis, reporting, and various operational projects.

In this role, you will be actively engaged across the organization, playing a key role in improving workflows related to payables, billing, and transaction management, while also supporting month-end close and vendor coordination. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys solving problems, building systems and processes, and working in a dynamic, high-activity environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable: Full-cycle ownership of A/P processes.
  • Accounts Receivable: Assist with billing and perform collections outreach.
  • General Ledger: Maintain schedules for revenue recognition and various balance sheet accounts.
  • Month-End Close: Assist with closing activities and reconciliations, including journal entries.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Generate ad hoc reports, cash flow analysis, and scheduled dashboards.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Support cross-functional initiatives and assist marketing with in-house printing needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing synagogue and Jewish educational environment.
  • Familiarity with ShulCloud synagogue management software and common digital payment platforms is desirable.
