Elementary School Judaic Studies Teacher / Hazzan

Job Title: Elementary School Judaic Studies Teacher / Hazzan
School: SAM School
 
SAM School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Elementary School Judaic Studies Teacher / Hazzan to inspire students through meaningful Judaic learning and tefillah. This role may be full-time or part-time, depending on teaching and tefillah responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Judaic Studies subjects including Chumash, Jewish holidays, Navi, Mishna, and Ivrit.
  • Lead a Sephardic tefillah and Kabbalat Shabbat, and model meaningful participation in prayer (Sephardic tradition and Keriah)
  • Foster a warm and engaging Jewish learning environment
  • Develop lessons aligned with school curriculum and philosophy
  • Collaborate with Judaic and General Studies faculty
  • Communicate effectively with parents and administration
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Education-focused background required
  • Master’s degree in education preferred
  • Fluency in Hebrew required
  • Prior teaching and/or chazzanut experience preferred
  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
