This role presents an exciting opportunity for a seasoned fundraising professional to advance the mission of a respected educational institution rooted in tradition and community. The Director of Advancement will play a central role in sustaining and growing the school’s philanthropic support, leveraging established relationships and building new ones to secure essential resources. With strong community ties and a well-established donor base, this position offers the chance to lead strategic development efforts in a collaborative and mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet the annual $1.5 million goal.
  • Cultivate, steward, and solicit mid-level donors; coordinate donor engagement activities in collaboration with school leadership.
  • Partner with the Head of School, who maintains primary relationships with top-tier donors.
  • Oversee major fundraising events, including the annual online campaign and gala dinner; ensure logistical and fundraising success.
  • Coordinate with lay leadership committees and volunteers for event planning and execution.
  • Manage grant applications and implementation, particularly government security grants, acting as liaison with vendors and agencies.
  • Prepare fundraising reports and updates for the Head of School and Board of Trustees.
  • Supervise a part-time assistant and work collaboratively with administrative team members.
  • Represent the school at internal and external events to enhance community engagement and donor relationships.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising or development, with a demonstrated record of meeting fundraising goals.
  • Experience planning and managing successful fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Familiarity with fundraising platforms (e.g., Charidy) and donor database software.
  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing grants and working with government agencies is a plus.

Work Environment & Benefits

  • Compensation range: $120,000–$140,000, based on experience, with potential for growth in future years.
