The Advocacy Department oversees the agency’s global advocacy efforts, developing and executing AJC’s strategy on its priority issues. The Department is responsible for creating greater organizational alignment and establishing the organization’s priorities and goals. As part of its portfolio, the team also leads the agency’s efforts on corporate outreach and intra-Jewish communal partnerships. 

The Advocacy Coordinator will work closely with the Chief Advocacy Officer, Director of Internal Communications and Advocacy, Director of Training and Education, Corporate, and the Director of Jewish Communal Partnerships to ensure that all administrative and coordination needs of the department are met. 

The successful candidate should be flexible, organized and a team player. The candidate must have professional judgment, flexibility, energy and be able to reliably handle multiple assignments in a fast-moving dynamic environment. 

The Advocacy Coordinator does all this while adhering to AJC’s core values: Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Excellence, and Accountability. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the development and management of key advocacy and internal communications tools, including AJC’s daily newsletter, resource guides, internal informational Hub, among others;
  • Work with the relevant advocacy team members to co-manage the logistical and operational elements of Advocacy-led programs and events;
  • Create, manage, and edit key department trackers, spreadsheets, and resources;
  • Coordinate travel and other needs as assigned;

 Qualifications: 

  • Passion and knowledge of AJC’s mission and advocacy work; 
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2 years of related experience;
  • Experienced multitasker with the capacity to work on and co-manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Detail oriented with solid written communication skills;
  • Well-developed professional and time management skills;
  • An entrepreneurial mindset; able to identify and pursue opportunities;
  • Ability to work closely with colleagues across the world;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including discretion, tact and diplomacy;
  • Positive attitude and team player who also relishes working with independent initiative;
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Raiser’s Edge (or other CRM equivalency);
