Job purpose

 

Alexander Jewish Family Service is seeking a full-time employee to oversee day-to-day operations at Celebration Company. Celebration Company is a 5 day per week supportive employment program for adults with disabilities. Clients’ disabilities include physical disabilities, mental illness, developmental and functional disabilities. This includes providing vocational support, supervision, and aid to clients, supervising a team of five or more employees and administrative duties.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Overseeing Celebration Company Central as a program to ensure program vision, goals and objectives are being met.
  • Ability to collaborate with Manager of Disability Services on devising and meeting program budget goals.
  • Scheduling and conducting job interviews, hiring, onboarding, and training as needed.
  • Monitoring and approving staff and employee attendance and payroll.
  • Evaluating and assessing programs strengths and areas in need of improvement
  • Monitoring projects and staff overseeing projects to ensure goals are met.
  • Oversee the Celebration Company Central staff as a team
  • Provide oversight to a diverse staff of five to seven employees.
  • Coordinate the daily workflow and scheduling of team members.
  • Evaluating performance and providing feedback to team members, including creating and tracking Performance Improvement Plans as needed.
  • Ability to assess client’s strengths and abilities to ensure proper placement within Celebration Company.  
  • Provide leadership support for social work clinical interns. 
  • Help to organize and lead trainings for Celebration Company staff.
  • Develop task analysis for new skills being taught. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents and/or caregivers as needed. 
  • Oversee and manage the distribution, collection, and sharing of bi-annual and annual surveys used for outcomes data purposes, grants, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Organize and host Monday evening PACT meetings approximately every six weeks.
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements.
  • Submit Medicaid waiver billing each month
  • Collaborate with counterpart at Celebration Company West.
  • Administrative duties as assigned.
  • Additional responsibilities as warranted by management.  

    Qualifications

     

    This job requires a bachelor’s degree; master’s degree is preferred.  Related fields of study include social work, education, psychology, sociology, or business, from an accredited university, and strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

     

    Qualifications include:

    • At least two years' experience working with clients with disabilities. 
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Minimum two years' supervising experience
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills 
    • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and prior experience working with an electronic health record.
    • Ability to preserve confidential information. 
    • Demonstrate ability to foster a workable, effective, and productive relationship with other clients, staff, administration, volunteers and organizations.
    • Ability to work effectively as a team member and assist other staff members willingly.  
    • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

     

     

    Working conditions

     

    This job requires some evening and/or Sunday work hours as needed. You will be providing direct service to individuals with disabilities who may need assistance with food preparation, bath rooming, and simply hygiene. You will be expected to work off site in community settings such as grocery stores and fitness centers. You will be expected to drive agency vehicles when needed (training provided).

    Physical requirements

     

    Ability to help load wheelchairs on and off handicap accessible vehicles.

    Ability to lift items up to 25 lbs.

    Ability to help someone transfer to and from a wheelchair.

     

    Direct reports

    Program Assistants and drivers.

    Provide oversight to Celebration Company Program Assistants on behalf of Manager of Disability Services.
