Director of Emerging Leaders

About the Position: 

The Director of Emerging Leaders is a strategic team player with a “can-do” attitude, charged with engaging and inspiring the next generation of Jewish leaders in our community. This exciting role offers the opportunity to build and lead a forward-thinking, philanthropy-focused space where emerging leaders can connect, grow, and develop as leaders, shaping the future of Jewish life in Broward County. 

What you will be doing: (principal duties/responsibilities/tasks of the role, typical day): 

• Oversee and implement a strategic engagement plan aimed at developing emerging leaders’ involvement, including leadership development, philanthropy, and volunteerism. 

• Develop effective strategies to cultivate, steward, and sustain commitment to the Federation’s Annual Campaign. 

• Build a comprehensive lay leadership structure for the Young Leadership Division (YLD) Board of Directors. 

• Organize and manage the Horizons Leadership Program, empowering and developing current and future volunteer leaders. 

• Drive significant growth in participation in JFNA’s National Young Leadership Cabinet. 

• Create opportunities to strengthen connections between emerging leaders and the larger Federation Board and community. 

• Lead the growth of our communities Emerging Leaders 

What you need to succeed 

• Bachelor’s degree required 

• Areas of discipline: Jewish communal professional, management, event strategy, understanding of marketing and communications   

• Fundraising experience is required  

• Minimum of four to six years of experience in leadership roles at Jewish communal institutions  

• Charismatic individual who will draw and engage emerging leaders in our community  

• Futuristic thinker and executor who will continuously create the next level of achievement  

• Driven and determined leader who creates momentum and positive energy  

• Prior successes working in the young adult space is a plus  

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media  

• Must possess strong written and oral communication skills  

• Familiarity with and understanding of the Broward Jewish community and National Jewish community is a plus  

• Work some evenings and weekends  

• Requires some travel
