The Director of Data Security and IT leads the strategic direction, implementation, and oversight of the organization’s technology infrastructure and data governance. This role ensures secure, innovative, and efficient use of technology to support operations, service delivery, and organizational growth.
Strategic Technology Planning
Develop and implement a technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals
Oversee IT and data vendor relationships and software/platform integration
Consolidate data systems to streamline reporting and improve performance
Implement tools to automate metrics and create real-time dashboards
Enhance the organization’s website for improved client interaction
Research & Development
Evaluate emerging technologies that support efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and engagement
Lead transitions to new platforms and oversee IT infrastructure for new facilities/programs
Deploy tools for staff productivity, emergency readiness, and targeted digital outreach
Infrastructure & IT Operations
Manage IT systems and end-user support across all sites
Oversee hardware/software maintenance and system upgrades
Address complex IT requests and conduct audits to minimize security risks
Team Leadership & Support
Build and manage a high-performing IT team
Ensure adequate tech support and conduct needs assessments to support expansion
Technology Governance & Compliance
Develop and enforce IT policies and data governance standards
Ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and conduct cost-benefit analyses
Standardize platforms and streamline technology investments
Data Security Strategy
Create and enforce data security protocols, access controls, and privacy best practices
Evaluate system risk and respond to breaches
Clean up inactive user access and manage centralized access systems
Emergency Response & Continuity
Develop protocols for IT emergencies and infrastructure disruptions
Support digital crisis communication and maintain continuity during outages
Performance Monitoring
Respond promptly to user issues and support program data needs
Conduct regular staff check-ins to ensure data tools are effectively used
Reduce data entry burden while supporting strategic planning
Bachelor’s in IT, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
7–10 years of progressive IT leadership experience
Required: Fluency in Power BI and experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and database systems
Strong background in cybersecurity, compliance, and IT infrastructure management
Skilled in project management, vendor oversight, and digital transformation
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities
Ethical and detail-oriented with a big-picture mindset
Desk-based work with regular use of computer and office equipment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Travel across agency locations as needed
Ability to travel to New Jersey
Familiarity with the Orthodox Jewish community
Basic understanding of government social services grants
