Description

Director of Operations (On Site)

Building

  • Ensure all areas of the building are working properly.
  • Manage process for repairs, estimates and approvals in collaboration with the Executive Director.
  • Ensure all safety equipment is up to date and fully stocked (e.g. first aid/CPR kits, fire extinguishers)
  • Work with Executive Director to ensure all operational functions and processes are in line with engagement strategies
  • Oversee grant process for building and security related funds.
  • Oversee and manage building vendors, including bids and work orders,  in collaboration with the Executive Director, Maintenance and Director of Finance and Technology.
  • Serve as the emergency contact for the building during off hours
  • Oversee new equipment, including maintenance and warranties
  • Update database with all room set ups and details
  • Manage building grounds and parking lot
  • Manage camera system
  • Oversee phone system

 

Management of Congregational Calendar, Event Space and Facility

  • Assign space (both physical and virtual) for all programs, events, meetings and rentals; hire security and other support staff as needed
  • Provide guidance and support to staff members and lay leaders as it relates to hosting programs and events to ensure that all logistical details and engagement opportunities are considered
  • Maintain inventory of event and programmatic related equipment; make recommendations for upgrades as appropriate

 

Lifecycles and Rentals

  • Serves as contact, event support and on-site staff member for all rental events, including lifecycle
  • Work closely with vendors, congregants, guests and clergy to oversee arrangements for funerals, memorial services/shiva and other other lifecycle events 
  • Oversee all needs related to facility rentals, including rental fees, promotion of space, contracts and execution of events
  • Assist in securing outside rentals 

 

High Holy Days

The Director of Operations and Events will oversee all logistical elements related to the execution of the High Holy Days, delegating to the appropriate staff as needed, including:

 

  • Transportation
  • Ushers
  • Audio/Visual

 

  • Security

 

Supervision

Direct supervision of maintenance staff

 

Committees & Collaboration

  • Oversee the building and security task force in collaboration with the Executive Director
  • Work with department heads on calendering for the synagogue events (internal and external)
  • Work with Communications Manager on reviewing community emails listing upcoming events and programs

 

 

Salary65,000.00 - 70,000.00 Annual
