Beth Sholom Congregation is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Director of Early Learning to lead our Brodie Family Early Learning Center. In addition to overseeing the preschool operations, the ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering connections between our preschool families and the broader synagogue community. The Director of Early Learning supervises the Assistant Preschool Director and all teachers, serves on the synagogue’s administrative staff team, and reports to Beth Sholom’s Executive Director.

The Brodie Family Early Learning Center, a Keystone 4 STARS preschool, provides a loving, stimulating, and creative environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Rooted in Jewish traditions, our center offers both traditional and Montessori programs, allowing children to thrive emotionally, cognitively, and academically. We offer early and late care for the convenience of our parents. With the support of our professional team, children learn and grow while celebrating the Jewish calendar, holidays, and traditions. Our vibrant Parent Teacher Organization contributes to the strong sense of community felt throughout the year.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Lead the daily operations of the preschool, including developing and implementing educational policies, coordinating programs, and supervising staff.

- Cultivate a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is valued and supported.

- Manage the preschool budget, initiate grant opportunities, and ensure financial sustainability.

- Actively recruit and engage new families, fostering strong relationships and facilitating communication.

- Support PTO leadership in organizing preschool-specific community-building events and initiatives.

-Serve as a member of the synagogue’s administrative team and attend weekly synagogue staff meetings

- Collaborate with the Family Engagement Specialist to integrate preschool families into synagogue activities and promote post-preschool synagogue membership.

-Work closely with the Religious School Director to encourage participation in our post-preschool Religious School.

-Coordinate and being present for approximately 8 Saturday morning Tot Shabbats with Parent Lunch and Learns each year

-Plan and execute preschool holiday celebrations

- Ensures the Preschool remains in compliance with all PA Department of Human Services and Keystone 4 STARS regulations.

- Implements emergency protocols and procedures in concert with the synagogue Executive Director.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 30 credit hours in early childhood education or related field.

- 5-7 years of experience in early childhood education, including 2 years in a supervisory role.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

- Proficiency in budget management and problem-solving.
