Repair the World (Repair) mobilizes Jews and their communities to take action to pursue a just world. We believe that service in support of social change is vital to a flourishing Jewish community and an inspired Jewish life. Repair is seeking a City Director to be our city-based leader of strategy, relationships, fundraising and programming for Repair in Miami. This leader will be passionate about the intersection of Jewish values, social change, young adult engagement, and service; and they will be deeply committed to maintaining and building community collaborations and fostering an environment of equity and empowerment. Miami Repair’s Program Director is responsible for building and maintaining strong partnerships with local Jewish, social justice, and service organizations; overseeing up to 4 Fellows during their 2 years of service placements and leadership development; and managing the annual programming calendar.
Our Fellows are young adults, aged 21-26, who spend 2 years serving with Repair, as a team of emerging leaders and practitioners focused on the intersection of service, social justice and Jewish values. The goal of the Fellowship is to build a collaborative and accountable team of Fellows who successfully engage their peers in service, learning, program design, and program implementation.
This full time exempt position will report to Repair’s Regional Director, work collaboratively and closely with local partners, and is based in Miami, FL.
Effectively communicate the organization’s mission and goals to a wide variety of audiences. Promote the power of volunteering to improve lives and support social change for communities that are marginalized and vulnerable.
Engage, and manage a local advisory council. Manage and continue to build and sustain deep partnerships with local Jewish, civic, and service-providing organizations serving the communities with which we choose to work.
Recruit, manage, and coach a team of 2-4 Fellows to achieve service performance requirements, meet their service partner standards, and reach their leadership development potential, with the goal of fellows becoming integrated service partners and reaching their volunteer engagement goals.
Plan a robust and strategic calendar of programming, including service opportunities that match the needs of service partners and the target audience, and deepen volunteers’ understanding about the social, economic, and historical context of their service, as well as the connections to Jewish values.
Work with Repair’s National programs team and Program Directors in other cities in executing our National campaigns and coordinated programs throughout the program year, and facilitating weekly learning for Fellows around issues of systemic injustice, Jewish values, volunteer mobilization and management.
Support the national development team’s local fundraising by: collaborating with colleagues, sharing stories, engaging local funders and prospects on event/site visits with stakeholders, identifying local lay leaders and taking part in discussions to secure funding for Miami Repair.
Manage local budget in collaboration with national finance team.
Position Requirements and Skills

5+ years of experience with a track record of direct volunteer management including leading service learning projects or programs; Strength in coaching, inspiring and motivating a team around a common vision; Excellent facilitation of meetings, trainings, and group-based reflection.
Experience successfully leading organizational development with enthusiasm and energy, including successful budget management and fundraising experience; Ability to seize opportunities, learning and course correcting in real time.
Clear understanding of how to create long-term professional relationships; Proven ability to connect with executive leaders, non-profit leaders, and young adults; Skilled in relationship building across communities, including at an executive level or equivalent including negotiation of program impact, partnership and outcomes.
Sophisticated awareness of poverty, structural racism, power and privilege, ability to facilitate conversations around these issues with diverse groups in ways that empower and open people to learning.
Excitement about connecting Jewish values and learning to service and social justice work; Ideal candidate is already involved in the Jewish, service, and/or social justice community in Miami.
Experience using data to measure programmatic impact, and an understanding of data management.

The starting salary for this role is $70,000 dependent on experience. Benefits package includes paid time off for service in addition to vacation and holidays, employer pays 100% for employee medical/dental/vision coverage and 50% for dependents, retirement matching, and professional development funds. In addition, employees that have been with Repair for at least a year are eligible for 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
