Position Summary

Responsible for all major programming and coordination of logistics for successful engagements at Temple Sinai. This includes working with clergy, staff and lay leadership in developing, marketing and executing programs for a variety of ages and interests. Our portfolio of programs consists of series, one-time programs, Shabbat programming and special holiday planning.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Full responsibility managing and implementing established programs:
    • Temple-wide social and holiday-oriented programming (i.e. Picnic, Purim Carnival, Shabbat dinners, etc.)
    • One-off programs that are not repeated annually (i.e. community-wide concerts, Community Yom HaShoah Program, Shabbat Dinners, etc.)
    • Staff Liaison to the Caring Community, Women’s Programming Initiative, Sinai Tzedek (Social Action), Green Team, Cultural Arts Committee, etc.
    • Demographic-oriented programming (i.e. older adults, empty nesters, youth programs, etc.)
    • Liaison for established reoccurring programs making sure programs leads and groups have what they need either in-person or online, such as room set up, program supplies, Zoom links, Zoom moderation, etc. (i.e. Jewish War Veterans, Book Club, Torah Study, etc.)
    • Bring program proposals to leadership that support the Temple’s strategic vision
  • Budget management for all programs; responsible for documentation and reconciliation of expenditures
  • Oversee program calendar planning; work with Clergy and Staff to organize and maintain program calendar
  • Support email marketing of individual programs as well as managing weekly email newsletters, Shabbat email announcements and content for Sinai’s monthly newsletter.
  • Design and produce flyers, postcards, invitations, posters, and other print promotional materials for Temple Sinai programs and initiatives, working with outside vendors as appropriate
  • Assist leadership with the planning of large fundraising events for the Temple, Preschool and Religious School
  • Provide leadership to staff and Temple committees to help identify specific program ideas, recruit the necessary volunteer help and pertinent resources, oversee program execution and facilitate program reviews
  • Prepare monthly Board Reports, including qualitative and quantitative results of month’s work, as well as a narrative on work in progress
  • Serve as staff-on for Shabbat services, on a rotating schedule with colleagues
  • Attend scheduled programs, including those outside of traditional work hours

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred)
  • Experience: Programming/Events: 5 years (preferred) / Administrative Experience: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Exemplary communication skills - written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills - work at an efficient pace meeting deadlines
  • Creative thinking and problem solving; ability to collaboratively ideate and execute on work
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel, Canva, CRM/email marketing databases
  • Ability to ensure that programs are meeting the goals of Temple Sinai’s mission, as well as implement the smallest of details to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to work across various Temple constituents and with Clergy as well as community partners to develop and execute meaningful programs

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience
