The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh is the central fundraising and community planning organization for the Pittsburgh Jewish community. We provide funding to local and overseas partner agencies, as well as independent programs that provide health and human welfare services.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Associate Director, Development and Affinities, the Manager of Women’s Philanthropy is responsible for engaging existing and new female-identifying donors, cultivating relationships, and soliciting donations and endowments to advance the Federation’s mission. This person is also responsible for organizing and facilitating the events and activities of Women’s Philanthropy aimed at engaging new and existing participants.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as a Relationship Manager: cultivate and steward relationships with donors and prospects by conducting a significant number of in person meetings each month with donors and prospects in their portfolio
- Strategically oversee the Women’s Philanthropy campaign activities and determine opportunities for enhancement
- Initiate and integrate endowment conversations to create planned giving opportunities
- Collaborate with the Women’s Philanthropy Chair (volunteer) and work in partnership with the Women’s Philanthropy lay leadership team to identity, initiate, and develop solicitation efforts, enhance current initiatives, and implement fundraising activities
- Employ the Lion of Judah and other recognition programs as needed or desired to create independent communities of high-level campaign donors
- Create programmatic opportunities to engage and inspire women to participate in the Federation and become more deeply engaged as donors
- Work in partnership with development colleagues and other departments of Federation to maximize fundraising efforts through the annual campaign, planned giving and endowment, supplemental giving, and corporate philanthropy
- Monitor budgets for Women’s Philanthropy divisional activities
- Handles Community Campaign responsibilities as needed
- Attends fundraising phoning sessions and participates in special events as appropriate
- Manges a fundraising team of volunteer leaders
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelors’ degree
- 3-5+ years of fundraising, programming, or related experience
- Experience in volunteer management
- First-hand knowledge of the Jewish community, its customs and practices
- Strong knowledge of basic MS Office software, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Knowledge of Zoom and basic database management skills also required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills that enable relationship and partnership building with key lay leaders, donors, and professionals at all levels.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in partnership with other Federation departments and ensure collaboration of all involved.
- Must provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19
- Must be available to work some evenings, weekends and be able to travel for local meetings.
This position has a competitive salary of $60,000 to $70,000 a year to commensurate with experience.
