Kindergarten - 2nd Grade Teacher

Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation in Reston, VA, is seeking part-time religious school teachers for Sunday morning in-person Kindergarten-2nd grade classes, beginning Fall, 2025.

We strive at Kehillat Limmud, our religious school, to create classrooms where students are fully welcome and create strong friendships with their peers. Our K-2 teachers are kind, warm, and open-hearted individuals who are passionate about their Judaism and excited to share their knowledge. Our curriculum follows the Jewish calendar, exploring holidays, values, big themes, and a dash of Hebrew, giving students a taste of Judaism and Jewish learning.

The ideal candidate is:

• Knowledgable and confident in their own Jewish identity.
• Can model a love of Judaism for their students.
• Is excited and passionate about sharing their Jewish knowledge.
• Has some experience teaching young children (not required).
• Has some experience writing lesson plans and preparing lesson materials (not required).

Hours: 9:00am-12:00pm Sunday mornings, plus 30 minutes of lesson planning time per week, plus trainings throughout the year.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
