We are currently hiring two roles and invite you to explore the one that fits your experience best. Roles can be based either in Kansas City Metro Area or St. Louis.

Our staff play a key role in the success of BBYO by working closely with colleagues and leadership teens to grow membership, train regional teen leaders, deepen support for BBYO in the community and lead organization-wide initiatives that produce meaningful, Jewish experiences. This is an amazing opportunity to make an impact in the local Jewish community by engaging with and inspiring Jewish teens to do great things.

We are the Jewish community’s largest and fastest growing pluralistic platform for reaching and inspiring Jewish teens during the school-year with 600 teen-led local chapters and over 100 weekend retreats along with a plethora of summer experiences including Israel visits, global travel programs and leadership camps. What you’ll get to do as our Senior Regional Director: 

  • Oversee the Mid-America Region team-coach and manage staff and teens to create impactful, fun and dynamic programs. 
  • Mentor local teens and chapters and deliver leadership training across the region. 
  • Implement broad-based local fundraising efforts including direct solicitation, grants and relationship building 
  • Lead a member recruitment process that expands the pipeline of prospects, aligns stakeholders, and prepares teens to invite other teens to join BBYO.
  • Coordinate and execute large scale regional conventions and community-wide events. 
  • Recruit and train chapter volunteer advisors
  • Manage program budgets and calendars. 
  • Seek out and develop relationships with parents, alumni and community partners to mobilize more people to grow BBYO, and drive metrics. 
  • Participate in organizational projects, teams, and summer programs as assigned to expand the movement and strengthen teen leadership. 
  • Attend summer camp (but this time you’re in charge!) as you lead teen leadership programs. 
  • Flex your creative muscles by executing new and noteworthy programming. 

What you’ll get to do as our Regional Director:

  • Lead your local BBYO community by working with teens to create impactful, fun and dynamic programs including large scale community events and conventions each year.
  • Work directly with teen leaders, advisors, parents and stakeholders to expand membership and impact of BBYO throughout your home community.
  • Provide guidance, support, and supervise volunteer advisors that work directly with local chapters.
  • Build partnerships, relationships and networks in and out of the Jewish community.
  • Support broad-based fundraising and relationship building efforts.
  • Attend summer camp (but this time you’re in charge!) as you lead teen leadership programs.
  • Empower and inspire staff, teens, volunteers and advisors through your mentorship, coaching and training.
  • Be the BBYO brand ambassador in the community

What you’ll learn while working at BBYO:

  • How to run a small business as you develop skills in budgeting, membership, marketing, sales, HR and event planning
  • How to manage a budget and track and analyze business metrics
  • How to work with a global team and across organizational and geographical boundaries
  • Relationship building as you network with and travel to other BBYO communities
  • Professionalism and the ability to inspire and influence others to action

Role Requirements: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • 2-5 years of work experience for Regional Director
  • 5+ years of work experience for Senior Region including experience managing others
  • Ability to travel as needed throughout Mid-America Region (approx 10%) and to staff a summer leadership program at a location in the U.S. for 2-3 weeks each summer. 
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours (nights and weekends)  
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship.

Salary:

Regional Director: $55,000-$65,000

Senior Regional Director: $65,000-$72,000
